Soft rain,
warm rain,
gently running down my face.
Cleanse my mind,
soothe my soul,
stop my hearts hopeless race.
Take my grief,
my cries,
my sorrow,
they have no place in my tomorrow.

A beautiful reflection on being anointed by nature.
I’m afraid I’m usually less appreciative and cry “Damn, I’m getting wet!”
Still the soothing and the clean start are something I often feel a need for.

“Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet.”
Bob Marley
But your comment made me laugh out loud and I like that. 😍
The rain is my go to healing place, the shower a close second. Unfortunately the shower often makes me ‘think’ too much 🙄

I think the key is “warm rain”. When I think of rain I mainly think of cold winter rain.
Yes, there is something about being warm, naked and wet that just stimulates the brain so much… Or something like that.

I know what you mean and yes, that is a trusting, vulnerable place as well as a pleasurable one.
but also warm, naked and wet is our prime fetal state, a place of safety.
Deep thoughts for a Tuesday, I need more coffee 😉

I’ve always felt that there is something beautiful and something gloomy associated with rain. While sometimes, it may make you want to break down and cry, at other times, like what you’ve written, it cleanses your soul and refreshes your mind.
I find that very fascinating. Thank you for this piece ❤.

For me it’s both, there is no point keeping emotions in, they only drown you, in the rain I can let it out it’s my go to place for heartbreak and sorrow and as I do the rain cleanses me, it’s the life bringer.
I’m glad you enjoyed it ☺️

Your poem reminded me how I adore the rain (without becoming uncomfortably soaked to the skin note), I always have done whether walking to work or ascending Mt. Snowdon as it’s being driven into my face and rattling hard against my jacket….…………. does this betray character qualities? Hm there’s a thought.

Betray? No, more align kindred thoughts… The thought of driving rain on Snowdon did make me shiver though, there is a desperate beauty to fighting through adverse weather that I enjoy thinking about in the past tense only 😉
