The dark can sometimes make things clearer, removing sight can aid the mind. Unravel the thoughts like streamers spiralling together, knotting, confusing.
When thought becomes dense, it’s harder to see through the mess. Hopeless confusion, but hold back, despite the dark.
A twitch of a smile, a shaft of light shines hopefully in the minds eye and you trust in yourself. It won’t be long now.
Raise your head, lift that chin up and suck in the breeze. Raise your head girl! In the dark you can see.
And in that moment, with trust and clarity, know you can rise up and go on.
