“If you have nothing good to say, say nothing”
And the nothing days ooze
And stretch out,
Before you know where you are,
There’s a year of emptiness.
And whilst the bleak days echo
The water gets trodden,
The bookmark doesn’t falter,
The air stagnates no matter how crisp and clean.
One breath, then another.
Day, then night, then day.
Time passes, nothing is said.
